Downstream regeneration:
After backwashing and configuring the regeneration solution, the regeneration solution is injected into the system and cleaned and soaked according to the direction of water flow during operation, which is called downstream regeneration and usually flows from top to bottom.
Convection regeneration:
Convection regeneration refers to the process where the flow direction of the regeneration fluid is opposite to that during operation, and the regeneration fluid flows upwards, also known as counter current regeneration. It can effectively improve the regeneration degree and enhance the quality of the produced water.
Split regeneration:
Split flow regeneration refers to the simultaneous entry of regeneration liquid from both the upper and lower ends of the exchanger, and its discharge through the drainage device in the middle of the resin layer. Equivalent to using upstream regeneration for the upper part and upstream regeneration for the lower part.

Usually, in order to completely remove the regenerated liquid and other impurities on the resin surface, it is necessary to clean it with clean water at a working flow rate, and the effluent from this process should be soft water that meets the standard. Generally, the fast flushing process takes 5-15 minutes.
Regeneration precautions:
When preparing the regeneration solution, clean water should be used for mixing, and tap water should not be used to prevent hardness ions and particles from being carried into the resin.
When the softened resin is contaminated with impurities, double the amount of regenerant can be used for regeneration, which can effectively solve the problem of resin contamination.
