What are the management requirements for the operation of the advanced treatment system of leachate treatment equipment?

April 19, 2024

The advanced treatment technologies for leachate treatment equipment mainly include membrane treatment, chemical softening, advanced oxidation technology, etc. In application, they are combined according to the requirements of different leachate projects and the quality of incoming and outgoing water. The following mainly introduces the most common treatment method in leachate treatment equipment technology - membrane treatment technology system operation management requirements.

Leachate treatment equipment

The membrane system of the leachate treatment equipment may encounter problems such as the deposition of colloidal particles, microbial growth, inorganic scaling of the membrane, and chemical pollution during daily operation. These factors affect the safe and stable operation of the system, and necessary membrane component maintenance work needs to be carried out in a timely manner. The maintenance of membrane components can be summarized into two major aspects: first, membrane pre-treatment, and second, flushing, cleaning, and maintenance of membrane equipment. The main purpose of daily maintenance during operation is to extend the service life of membrane components and maintain their performance. When operating, strictly follow the instructions provided by Haibo Environmental Protection for relevant operations.

1、 Pre treatment of leachate treatment equipment

The required pre-treatment methods vary depending on the quality of the raw water, which can be broadly divided into the following: coagulation, clarification, filtration, softening, disinfection, reduction, scale inhibition, etc.

2、 Flushing

After the system is shut down, some of the raw water remains inside the membrane components, which can easily lead to scaling, blockage, and microbial growth over time. Therefore, a flushing operation should be carried out after the shutdown to push the remaining raw water out of the membrane components. Generally, water flushing is used.

3、 Cleaning

If the operating time of the membrane element is too long, it may cause a decrease in flux and a deterioration in the quality of the produced water. Therefore, cleaning operations should be carried out to restore the performance of the membrane component. The cleaning methods can be divided into acid washing, alkali washing, offline cleaning, etc., and can be cleaned according to the operating manual

Maintenance of membrane components for leachate treatment equipment

New membrane components

1. The membrane components have undergone a water test before leaving the factory, and are stored in a 1% sodium sulfite solution before being vacuum packaged in oxygen isolation bags

2. Membrane components must be kept in a moist state, even if they need to be temporarily opened to confirm the quantity of the same packaging, they must be carried out in a state that does not damage the plastic bag, and this state should be preserved until use;

3. Membrane components should be stored at a low temperature of 5-10 degrees Celsius. When storing in an environment with a temperature exceeding 10 degrees Celsius, it is necessary to choose a well ventilated place and avoid direct sunlight. The storage temperature should not exceed 35 degrees Celsius

4. If the membrane components freeze, physical damage will occur, so insulation measures should be taken to prevent them from freezing;

5. When stacking membrane components, the packaging box should not exceed 5 layers and the cardboard box should be kept dry.

Old membrane components

1. Membrane components must always be kept in a dark place, stored at a temperature not exceeding 35 degrees Celsius, and kept away from direct sunlight; There is a risk of freezing when the temperature is below 0 degrees Celsius, so anti freezing measures should be taken;

2. In order to prevent the growth of microorganisms in membrane components during short-term storage, transportation, and system standby, it is necessary to prepare a protective solution of sodium sulfite (food grade) with a concentration of 500- lOOOppm and a pH value of 3-6 using pure water or reverse osmosis produced water to soak the components.

3. Soak the membrane element in a storage solution for about 1 hour, then remove it from the solution and package it in an oxygen isolation bag. Seal the bag and label it with the packaging date;

4. After repackaging the membrane components that need to be preserved, the storage conditions should be consistent with the new membrane components;

5. The concentration and pH value of the preservation solution should be maintained within the above range and checked regularly. If there is a possibility of deviation from the above range, the preservation solution should be prepared again;

6. Under no circumstances should the film be kept in a dry state during storage;

7. Alternatively, a formaldehyde solution with a concentration (mass percentage concentration) of 0.2% to 0.3% can be used as the preservation solution. Formaldehyde is a stronger microbial killing agent than sodium bisulfite, and its components do not contain oxygen.

Other measures include avoiding back pressure on the water production side, avoiding water hammer, maintaining a normal and reasonable recovery rate, and controlling a reasonable cleaning cycle.
